Many photographers have a single style that defines their entire brand. On one hand, this helps customers know what to expect and allows the photographer to define themself. On the other hand, this puts people into a box and we lose bits of their personality by displaying them through the same lens as everyone else.
My approach is a little different. I have some styles and patterns I prefer, but I really try to let your personality and the scenery define the direction of the photo.
Instead of making you look like “me”, I’d rather your photos look like you.
The best photos often come from something you decide to do on a whim. There’s a bit of greatness in all of us, that’s uniquely ours to express. Maybe it’s not always a grand gesture like Jasmyne there, but magic happens when we are free to express ourselves.
If you get nervous in front of a camera, welcome to the club. Every person you see in these photos started the day nervous. Don’t worry - I get it. Come as you are, I’ll handle the rest. ♥
Whatever the occasion, the day is all about you. It’s important to me that you enjoy yourself as much as you’ll enjoy your photos. That means having what you need, who you need, and providing whatever support I can to make sure that happens.

Familiar Portraits is a portrait photography project I began in 2020; currently based in Black Hawk, Colorado.
I’ve been working commercial photography and video production since 2013. My favorite projects have always been those that connect me with people and their causes. Quite simply, Familiar Portraits is my stand-alone portrait photography project focused entirely on people, their families, and what they love.
